To renew a CSCS card you need to prove you have the appropriate training and qualifications required to carry out your job. You also need to pass the CITB Health Safety and Environment test. The test costs £17.50. The type of work you do, how experienced you are and your qualifications or membership of professional bodies will determine which type of CSCS card you should apply for and which test you need to pass. If you are renewing your own card, once you have passed the appropriate CITB Health, Safety and Environment test, please call the CSCS Helpline on 0344 9944 777. Before you ring please ensure you have a credit or debit card to pay £30 for the card and details of your current or previous employer’s details including contact name, full address and telephone number. Your card will usually be dispatched on the next working day.
Alternatively you can download an application form, complete it and return it with the required documentation and payment. Please note that postal renewals can take up to 30 working days.
Please note that CSCS cards can only be renewed 6 months prior to the expiry date and up to 6 months after the expiry date and that the expiry date of the new card will be as if the card was renewed on time.
