If industry accreditation (also known as grandfather rights) still applies to the occupation of the person applying for the CSCS card, their employer can sign off their ability to carry out the tasks specified in the competencies document for that occupation in place of taking the relevant NVQ.  However, it should be noted that very few occupations are now under available under industry accreditation.  To check this information click here or call 0844 576 8777.
