Make the CSCS SmartCard Work for your Business
The CSCS SmartCard is a high capacity card that can be used for a multitude of purposes beyond just storing CSCS data. This gives contractors and clients the potential to use the CSCS card for applications such as security access, creating management statistics such as time and attendance reports and training reviews.
Your business can also use CSCS SmartCards for its own purposes via a licence arrangement.
A software application specific to your company can be placed on the card chip supported by a purpose-built SmartCard system. (This could be linked with one of your existing company databases.) It could even be designed to work with a ready-made SmartCard system such as security access control.
Once your application is developed you deploy it to the CSCS SmartCards of your site workers who need it, and it’s then ready to use. Each deployment is recorded and managed via a user friendly online system provided by CSCS.

Application Licence Activation
- Licences normally run for 1 year.
- The licence agreement specifies card quantities to be licensed and the duration.
- Licences are named and not transferable between individuals (controlled by the Cardholder’s CSCS number).
- Each applet can only be used for one application. (If a licensee wants to use the CSCS Card for more than one application then a further licence agreement is needed.)
- You can develop your SmartCard system with either your own IT provider or work with a CSCS preferred supplier.
