National SmartCard audit on 8th February
Published: January 27, 2017
CSCS are encouraging cardholders to bring their cards to work on the 8th February for the nation-wide SmartCard Audit.
The government strategy for the construction industry, Construction 2025, challenged the construction industry to adopt smart technology and solely recognise cards carrying the CSCS logo by 2020.
Build UK and the Civil Engineering Contractors Association (CECA) are leading the way to a safer industry by carrying out a CSCS SmartCard audit across member construction sites on Wednesday 8 February 2017.
Smart technology not only certifies that individuals working on construction sites have the required training and qualifications for the type of work they carry out, but also saves valuable time and money for individual contractors.
As well as promoting the value of SmartCard technology, the audit will highlight any expired or fraudulent cards that are in the system.
The SmartCard Audit represents a fantastic opportunity for Build UK and CECA members to bring their smart technology procedures in line with the recommendations of the Construction Leadership Council.
