Build UK publishes Routes of Entry in Scotland guide
Published: October 2, 2023
Build UK has produced a new version of its guide setting out the routes of entry into construction for young people attending or leaving school in Scotland.
The Scottish construction sector needs to recruit over 20,000 new entrants each year to maintain output, and employers that understand the various routes of entry into the industry are well placed to offer opportunities and recruit their future pipeline of skills.
Published under the Build Scotland brand with the support of the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF), Skills Development Scotland (SDS), and the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA), the guide sets out the most common Routes of Entry in Scotland, including apprenticeships, college and university, and how they might suit different employers looking to support young people in Scotland to choose a career in the industry.
The English version of the guide is endorsed by CITB, the CLC and the Department for Work & Pensions (DWP).
