CSCS Cards Vacancy: Chair

Published: April 9, 2025

At CSCS, we help to improve standards and safety on UK sites through enabling construction players to prove that individuals working on sites have the appropriate training and qualifications for the job they do. Owned by industry and trade unions and run as a not-for-profit company, we play an important role at a critical time as the evolving Building Safety Bill continues to impact construction’s regulatory and operational landscape for the better.

We have a unique and practical role to play in supporting such change with a core purpose to maximise site safety.

We are now looking for an Independent Chair to lead CSCS Cards Limited; a private company limited by shares, wholly owned by CSCS Ltd, that owns and operates the CSCS Card Scheme.

With prior experience of contributing to the profitable growth of a business services/trading company, either in an executive or non-executive capacity, you will be an experienced non-executive director and committee chair who will bring strategic, commercial and developmental heft to the role. With board or committee leadership experience gained in a similarly complex governance setting, you will be familiar with the nuances of stakeholder/owner landscapes and dynamic industry conditions, accustomed to appropriately challenging and leading others to help steer a course to business success.

We are open to securing a fresh perspective on our opportunities and challenges, so you may be new to the sector. Regardless of sector background, we must appoint a leader of the utmost integrity and credibility, with a grounded, pragmatic approach, and an ability to build strong, respectful working relationships at all levels.

This has the potential to be a personally fulfilling role in which you will work with and support the success of a dedicated and talented group who are committed to the industry sector they serve. If you are inspired by our mission and have the experience to contribute to business performance excellence, we look forward to hearing from you.
