The National Association of Shopfitters & Interior Contractors (NAS) is delighted to announce the launch of its new Virtual SICCS Smartcard – a digital card that is stored in an app called Vircarda on a smartphone – developed by Reference Point for the CSCS Go Smart platform.
As the first organisation in construction to introduce Virtual Smartcards to replace the existing physical cards, NAS members will from October be issued with the new digital smartcard. It’s quick and easy to download and stored on their smartphone ready to use on site immediately.
The NAS has also extended the SICCS scheme to ensure that those with the now withdrawn CSCS CRO card, who have a supply chain relationship with shopfitting and interior contracting, can join the NAS and qualify to be a full or associate NAS member.
“As our members work in a constantly evolving industry, driven by technology, we are really pleased to be the first to use this latest technology, to only issue Virtual Smartcards,” said Robert Hudson, NAS Director. “There has never been a better time for our members to continue their accredited training, and for that to be recognised on site. The virtual SICCS cards provide instant access to updated records and qualifications, are quicker and easier to check and reduce the possibility of fraud.” continued Robert.
“We’re delighted that The NAS has chosen our new Virtual Smartcard solution, it’s important to us that we continue to deliver high quality, robust systems that our clients want and need. Vircarda uses the latest technology to provide a faster, more flexible skills card solution for our clients in construction and will help to improve safety and efficiency, making it easier to check that workers hold the appropriate qualifications and training for the job they are doing.” said Beric Davis, CEO, Reference Point.
