SICCS picks up CSCS occupations

The Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) is notifying the industry that all shopfitting occupations are being transferred to the SICCS scheme.
SICCS is the card issuing scheme for the shopfitting sector and is managed by the National Association of Shopfitters and Interior Contractors (NAS). As a partner card scheme, the eligibility requirements for SICCS cards are similar to the requirements of CSCS cards. Applicants must hold a relevant qualification and have passed the appropriate level of the Health, safety and environment test.
Following discussions between CSCS and NAS, it is agreed that NAS is better placed to represent the shopfitting sector and the following occupations should be transferred to SICCS:
Shopfitting Sitework |
Shopfitting Benchwork |
Card applications (both for first time and renewals) for the above occupations should be made directly through SICCS.
CSCS Scheme Manager Alan O’Neile said “The shopfitting sector is best placed to determine what occupations are appropriate for the sector. CSCS fully supports SICCS taking responsibility for the carding of these occupations. This is positive news for the sector and the people who work in it.”
As part of the card renewal process CSCS will be reminding card holders in the affected occupations of the steps to be taken to move across to the SICCS scheme.
